Trust and Obey

Good morning, good morning, good morning, friends.

It’s another beautiful day, and I trust you are well.

This morning, something truly profound happened as I sat with my Bible. I read a passage and felt this deep stirring in my spirit — almost like a holy ache — and all I could say was, “God, I want to be on this level. I want to hear You consistently.”

As I sat there, a song from my teenage years began to rise in my heart. It’s an old hymn we used to sing often when I was in Adventist seminary high school:

When we walk with the Lord

In the light of His Word,

What a glory He sheds on our way.

While we do His good will,

He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey.

And then the chorus:

Trust and obey,

For there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus,

But to trust and obey.

As I sang those words quietly to myself, the Holy Spirit began to paint a picture for me. He was reminding me of what He has been asking of me — and why obedience matters.

The Words God Has Spoken Over This Year

As I reflected, I realized that several words God has spoken over my life this year are not separate — they are deeply connected.

One word I heard personally from God was:

Faith brings joy.

Other words came through churches and spiritual communities I’m connected to for growth and discipline:

A year of overflow

A year of radical transformation

A year of deliverance and exemption

When I laid them side by side, I saw how they flowed together.

Faith brings joy — but faith must be anchored completely in God, not in self. Faith requires believing that whatever God has said, He will surely bring to pass.

But faith also has a process.

The Gestation Period of Faith

Faith is not instant gratification.

Faith has a gestation period.

Just as different creatures carry life for different lengths of time — a rabbit for weeks, a human for nine months, an elephant for over a year — what you are pregnant with determines how long the process will take.

That waiting season is not punishment.

It is preparation.

It is the period where God shapes you, strengthens you, and aligns you for what is coming.

Right now, I recognize that I am in my gestation season.

Radical Transformation Requires Surrender

One of the strongest anchor scriptures for this year is 2 Corinthians 3:18, which tells us that as we behold the Lord, we are transformed from glory to glory.

And I told myself honestly:

I do not want to walk through 2026 looking into the mirror of God and not recognizing myself.

That means shedding everything that does not reflect Him.

Letting go of worldly patterns.

Releasing traditions that do not align with truth.

My desire is simple — to walk as Jesus walked, regardless of culture or pressure.

Clearing the Old for the New

Another word God has spoken is from Joel 2:

“The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and new oil.”

Overflow doesn’t mean chaos.

Overflow requires space.

God also reminded me of His promise:

“I will bless you, multiply you, establish My covenant with you… and you will clear out the old to make room for the new.”

Right now, I am in that process — clearing the old for the new.

Sometimes, while clearing, it can feel like there is nothing happening. But God reassured me: you will eat the current harvest, even as you make room for what’s next.

Exodus 28: The God of Blueprint

Today’s reading brought me to Exodus 28, and it re-emphasized everything God has been speaking to me.

In this chapter, God calls Moses and gives him extremely detailed instructions for Aaron and his sons — setting them apart as priests.

What struck me wasn’t just the instruction, but the precision.

God didn’t say, “Make priestly garments.”

He gave:

The materials

The colors

The fabric

The embroidery thread

The stones

The engravings

The placement

The measurements

Even how the stones should be fastened

Nothing was vague.

Everything was intentional.

And suddenly, it became clear to me:

God does not lead His children blindly.

If we draw close enough, He gives step-by-step guidance.

Not guesswork.

Not confusion.

Not trial and error.

Blueprint.

A Personal Prayer

This chapter became my prayer for the day:

“Lord, help me to sit with You.

Help me not to be distracted by the noise of life.

Help me not to be carried away by culture or urgency.

Teach me how to tabernacle with You.

Open my inner ears.

Open my inner eyes.

Download Your blueprint for my life —

for my home, my calling, my decisions, my future.”

Because the God who gave Moses instructions down to thread color is the same God speaking today.

Final Reflection

We do not need to walk life blindly.

We do not need to guess our way through destiny.

What we need is stillness.

Obedience.

Trust.

There truly is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey.

And my prayer is this:

May God teach us how to sit with Him.

May He help us hear clearly.

May He download divine strategies for our lives.

And may we walk boldly in the blueprint He has prepared.

Amen
